India’s hope to WTC was stuck on the result of a Test match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

As New Zealand defeated Sri Lanka on Monday by 2 wickets, India got a reason to smile.

Taking a 2-1 series lead against Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy gave India a clinch to hold their spot in the World test Championship.

India played the inaugural World Test Championship Final against New Zealand in 2021.
