Himachal Pradesh imposes Rs 10 as ‘cow cess’ per liquor bottle

New Delhi: Cow cess of Rs 10 per bottle of liquor will be implemented in the state, Himachal Chief minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced on Friday. 

CM made this announcement during a budget presentation for the financial year 2023-24 in the state Assembly.

This cow cess will be used to allocate funds for the care of stray animals. many states have decided to levy ‘ cow cess’ to deal with the problem of stray animals, it varies to state and ranges between 2% to 20%.
