Medavachchiya police said that a woman who was involved in heroin trafficking targeting school children and the youth was arrested with 07 grams and 400 milligrams of heroin.
Person arrested is a 52-year-old woman named Hadunnetthi Susila Dayavathi, residing at No. 541/06, Temple Road, Medavachchiya.
Yesterday (22 March) the intelligence officers of the Medawachchiya 211 Infantry Brigade headquarters and police intelligence officers conducted this raid near the Medawachchiya Post Office based on the information received by the Medawachchiya Police Station and the intelligence officers of the 211 Infantry Brigade Headquarters.
Even at that time, the security officers were able to find 07 grams and 400 milligrams of heroin in the possession of this woman. The security forces say that this woman has been smuggling heroin for a long time in Medawachchiya and that was distributes heroin in the Colombo area targeting school children and the youth.
