First batch of turtles released from Galle Face

Wildlife Department officials yesterday said that they have found turtle eggs from the Galle Face beach for the first time and more than 2,000 eggs could

have been laid along the beach for the first time. Wildlife Conservation Department Director General M.G.C. Sooriyabandara said there is an increase in the number of turtles laying eggs along the Western Coast.Sooriyabandara added that there is a trend towards increased egg laying in the Galle Face coastal line.
