Devendra fadnavis presents Shinde’s government first budget with an iPad

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also holds the finance portfolio, on Thursday presented the maiden budget of the Eknath Shinde-led government for financial year 2023-24 in State Assembly.

Devendra Fadnavis started presenting the budget in lower-Assembly from an iPad instead of conventional paper documents. 

This is the first time, Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis presented the state budget as he has finance portfolio in Eknath Shinde government. 

This is the first budget of Eknath Shinde faction Shiv Sena and BJP coalition government after they formed government in June 2022.

During the budget presentation, Fadnavis said the outlay for farmers has been increased by Rs 6900 crore, and Coverage of the Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya insurance scheme has been increased from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
