BMICH hosts Pakistan Lifestyle exposition

BMICH hosted a group of 150 Pakistani lifestyle exhibitors from 15–19 Februaryproviding an opportunity for Sri Lankans to get a glimpse of the vibrant colours, products, and culture offered by Pakistan. The exhibitors stayed for a total of 10 days in the country, which is 1500 room nights as a direct result of the exposition,providing a boost to tourism. Their accompanying family members travelledwithin the country during the period of their stay in Sri Lanka.The exhibition stallsincluded traditional Pakistani clothes,homeware, jewellery,shoes,hand crafted items,food and a wide rangeof beauty products.

“We are delighted to have hosted the exposition which saw a stream of enthusiastic shoppers visiting the exposition and obtaining a first-hand experience of Pakistanihigh quality products,” said Sunil Dissanayake – Chief Executive, BMICH.

“We would like to thank the Department of Commerce and Department of Imports & Exports Control for their help and support extended clearing the exhibitorconsignments expeditiously and without hassle,” added Devanthi Ambuldeniya – Head of Business Development/Reservations & Events.

Set in a sprawling site, 15 well laid out and spacious car parks that can accommodate 3,000 vehicles at a given time, and well-maintained landscaped gardens, BMICH is Sri Lanka’s largest and Asia’s very first purpose-built convention center with ultra-modern facilities. BMICH is situated in one of the most prestigious locations in Colombo. BMICH won the South Asian Travel Award (SATA) Gold in 2016, Silver in 2017, and Gold again in 2018, 2019, 2020& 2022. In 2016 BMICH also won the Quality ERA Geneva Gold Award and the Platinum Award in Paris in 2017.
