WPL Auction LIVE: Smriti Mandhana goes to RCB, Sophie Ecclestone to UP Warriorz

New Delhi: Indian opener Smriti Mandhana will play for Royal Challenges Bangalore (RCB) in Women’s Premier League as she has been bought by the franchise for a superb Rs 3.4 crore.

UP Warriorz bought Sophie Ecclestone for Rs. 1.8 Crore.
 Ellyse Perry sold to Royal Challengers for Rs 1.7 crore
RCB has second purchase bought Sophie Devine  for Rs 50 lakh.
Hayley Matthews goes unsold.
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been sold to Mumbai Indian for Rs 1.8 crore.

Mumbai Indian and Royal Challengers bid for Mandhana

Star batter Mandhana was the first one to go under the hammer. Mumbai Indian franchise bid first at her for base price 50 Crore.

Royal Challengers Bangalore enters the fray at Rs 55 lakh, back and forth between MI and RCB. The bid war crossed Rs 1 crore between the two franchise. RCB got the last laugh as they bought the player for 3.4 Crore.

Smriti Mandhana is considered the most important player of the Indian women’s cricket team. BCCI is going to organize Women’s IPL for the first time. This league will start from next month i.e. March. While bidding is being done this February.
