Women’s T20 World Cup: India to face Australia in semi-final, Read line-up HERE

New Delhi: Four teams that will play the knock-out stage of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 have been confirmed after the host South Africa thrashed Bangladesh in their final match of the group stage, showing the latter the way outside of the tournament.

Following the finale of group stage on Tuesday, top two teams from both the group will tussle against each others to reach the final, which will take place at Newlands in Cape Town.

The semi-final stage is all set

In the first semi-final, India will face off  Australia on Thursday. Defending champions Australia will look to retain their throne, on the other hand, Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will look to avenge their defeat of the 2020 T20 World Cup final.

Second semi-final will be played on Friday against England and South Africa. England who had topped the group with four straight wins, will take on the host South Africa.

Australia: The defending champions will now be aiming at lifting the silverware for the sixth time. The top side in the world will meet India for their semi-final clash.

2. India: Women in Blue qualified for the knock-out stage with three win and one lose against England. With this, India finished the group stage on the second position.

However, the task to win the game will be more difficult for Harmanpreet Kaur and Co as they face Australia in the first semi-final.

3.England: After a record win over Pakistan in the final match of the group stage, England will enter the semis in the style. With four wins in the group matches, England’s side dominated the whole tournament with their all-round performance.

4. South Africa: The host South Africa is the last team to qualify for the knock-out stage after defeating the Bangladesh. South Africa lost their first match to Sri Lanka and their shaky performance in the last match is a major cause of concern.
