Probe over Rs.10 Mn gold theft in Ja-Ela

The Ja-Ela Police has started a comprehensive investigation into a theft of over 10 million rupees worth of gold from a house in Kotugoda, Ja-Ela, owned by a businessman who owns a poultry farm.

The businessman who owns the house had gone to Kurunegala for a business purpose on February 12.

Therefore,the wife along with the children had gone to her sister’s house in Kelaniya.

On the 13th, when they returned home they had found gold jewellery weighing 56.5 sovereigns which was in the cupboard gone missing.

When perusing CCTV footage the police found a man entering the house on February 12 night through a window.

The police are investigating the incident.
