President to open Hanthana bird park tomorrow

President Ranil Wickremesinghe will open Sri Lanka’s first foreign bird park and eco-tourism zone tomorrow, which was established at a cost of Rs.490 million close to the Hantana Tea Museum premises in Kandy.

Spread over 27 acres, this foreign bird park and eco-tourism zone will be opened to the public from February 23.

Chairman of the Foreign Bird Park and Ecotourism Zone Nishantha Kottegoda said that there will be an opportunity to see more than a hundred species of birds native to foreign countries.
