BGT2023: Australia Test captain Pat Cummins will miss 3rd test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India. Vice captain Steve Smith will lead the Australian side in absence of Cummins.
After the second test match, Pat Cummins went back home to Sydney for some family reasons, later cricket Australia confirmed that his mother is in critical care.
Australia Test Captain said he will not be returning to India, as he has to be with his mother who is ill and in palliative care.
“I have decided to not to return to India at this time, I feel I am best being here with my family. I appreciate the overwhelming support I have received from Cricket Australia and teammates. Thanks for your understanding,.” Cummins said.
