Amidst the growing shortages in the health sector, Ministry of Health has instructed to postpone non-essential/non-urgent surgeries that could be postponed.
Minister Keheliya Rambukwella stated that upon doctor’s advice, non-urgent surgeries are to be delayed and urgent surgeries are to be prioritised.
According to the GMOA, no directive has been issued to this effect, however, all non urgent surgeries are limited due to resoruce shortages.
