Man who defrauded promising Malaysian job goes missing

Minuwangoda Police are conducting investigations to arrest a suspect who has defrauded a person of Rs.445,000 promising him to provide a job in Malaysia.

As reported, the suspect who was running an office in Minuwangoda had posted an advertisement on Facebook stating that he is providing foreign job opportunities to Sri Lankans.

Accordingly, a person from Wanduramba had visited this office and had given the suspect the money along with the passport expecting a job in Malaysia. The suspect has promised him to provide a job with a monthly salary of Rs.180,000 within 30 days.

However, when the victim realized that the mobile number used by the suspect has been disconnected, the suspect had visited his office in Minuwangoda. The office also had been closed.

Later, the victim had lodged a complaint with the police.

Police have identified the suspect, who has fled the area at present and investigations are being carried out, Minuwangoda police said.
