Cabraal’s case fixed for order, travel ban extended

The case filed against the former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal, has been fixed for order by Colombo Additional Magistrate T.N.A. Ilangasinghe yesterday.

Meanwhile, the overseas travel ban imposed on former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal was extended till April 6. The order will be delivered on the same date.

President’s Counsel Sampath Mendis appearing on behalf of Ajith Nivaard Cabraal submitted counter submissions pertaining to the preliminary objections submitted by the complainant’s party.

Earlier, President’s Counsel Maithri Gunarathne representing the complainant had filed preliminary objections.

Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal has been named as an accused in a personal complaint filed alleging misappropriation of funds while serving as the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

The complaint had been lodged by former Southern Province Governor Rajith Keerthi Tennakoon.
