New Delhi: Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde faction have been at loggerheads for a long time in Maharashtra. They were disputing over the name and symbol of the Shiv Sena party. The Election Commission has taken a big decision on this issue on Friday. The Election Commission has accepted the Eknath Shinde faction as the real Shiv Sena. Apart from this, the Shinde faction has also been allowed to use the name and symbol of Shiv Sena.
Owing to this the Uddhav Thackeray group has got a big blow from the Election Commission. The Election Commission says that the party’s constitution of the Thackeray faction is undemocratic. In this faction people were appointed without any election.
June 2022 saw a great conflict in Shiv Sena
In June last year, Eknath Shinde caused a major uproar in the coalition government in Maharashtra. The entire Shiv Sena was divided into Shinde and Thackeray factions. After this Uddhav Thackeray had to resign from the post of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister. Later the Shinde faction formed the government with the support of the BJP. Eknath Shinde himself became the Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Deputy CM.
