Unionist Palitha, Sanjeewa granted bail

United Trade Union Alliance Convener Ananda Palitha and Electricity Consumers’ Association Secretary, Sanjeewa Dhammika, who were arrested for allegedly threatening two members

of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), were enlarged on bail yesterday.

The order was issued by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage. The two suspects were released on two sureties of Rs.500,000 each.

The Kollupitiya police have filed two separate cases against the suspects.

Sanjeewa Dhammika was produced before an identification parade yesterday.Accordingly, the suspect has been identified by the witness.The Magistrate fixed further inquiries for April 27.
