Rs. 1000 coin, two stamps to mark SL’s 75th Independence

A special commemorative coin of one thousand rupees will be issued by the Central Bank  of Sri Lanka and two commemorative stamps will be issued by the Postal Department to mark the 75th anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Independence.

Portraits of late leaders D. S. Senanayake, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mohammad Ali Jinnah are depicted in one stamp. Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe said that this is a concept of President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The other stamp symbolizes nationality. The value of the stamps are fifty rupees.
