RRR roars in Los Angeles as film’s tickets sold out in just 98 secs

New Delhi: RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli will now be exhibited on January 9 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. Tickets for the film, which was released on March 25, have now sold out in 98 seconds at the world’s largest IMAX theatre. RRR, a Beyond Fest initiative, has become such a global phenomenon that the film was sold out in two minutes.

Beyond Fest’s official Twitter account announced the news. According to them, the incident is historic and has never previously been accomplished by an Indian film.

In the meantime, SS Rajamouli received the Best Director Award at the 2022 New York Film Critics Circle Awards.

Rajamouli thanked the jury and the audience for supporting his film. “You have made a lot of people take notice of a small film in South of India.” He also recalled seeing the faces of the audience during his film’s release. “It was pure joy of awe, like what in the hell we just witnessed. That is what I want my audiences to feel,” he said. The filmmaker also thanked his family for being his constant support.
