PC remanded for aiming gun at Sergeant at roadblock

A police constable who aimed his firearm at a police Sergeant who was on roadblock duty at Mirihana Jeswell junction on Saturday morning (7) with a T56 gun has been arrested along with the firearm.  

It is said that the police constable had gone to a nearby roadblock saying he was going to charge his mobile phone. But later he had fallen asleep there. The sergeant who had gone in search of the constable had found him asleep. Mirihana police information stated that because the sergeant reprimanded him over his action, the constable had aimed his weapon at his superior officer. The suspect constable has been remanded till January 18 after being presented to the Nugegoda court.The Mirihana Assistant Superintendent of Police has interdicted this officer.
