Ministers Amaraweera, Keheliya resign portfolios, makes way for new ministers

Agriculture, Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has resigned from his Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation portfolio yesterday.

He said the resignation was submitted in order to allow the President to appoint another MP as the minister for that subject and to continue the government.

The Minister has sent a letter to the President informing his resignation. However, he will continue to hold the portfolio of Minister of Agriculture.

Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and himself agreed to resign from one of his portfolios.
