Jaffna Magistrates’ Court summons three for protesting President’s visit

The Jaffna Magistrate Court, on Thursday, summoned three persons who had participated in a demonstration against President Ranil Wickremesinghe, when he visited Jaffna on Thai Pongal Day.Jaffna Police told the Court that the suspects had obstructed their duties and injured a policeman by throwing rocks.

Among those who had been ordered to appear before the Court are a representative of the Jaffna University Students Association, the President of the Association on Missing Persons, and a representative of a civil society organization.
