Cabinet Spokesman Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena yesterday said that citizens should have the right to live and earn their livelihood wherever they want, without discrimination of race, religion, caste, colour and gender.
He said this while replying to a question raised by a journalist regarding the threats against senior journalist Mohan Samaranayake at the Cabinet media conference held at the Government Information Department.
The Minister emphasized that if a citizen does not have that right, those who block it should be punished regardless of rank and that it is mandatory for a better society.
