All set for Advanced Level Exam from January 23

The Advanced Level Examination 2022 will be held from January 23 to February 17 at 2,200 examination centres countrywide, Examination Commissioner General Amith Jayasundara said.

He said 331,709 candidates will face the examination, which is co-ordinated through 317 examination co-ordinating centres.

Of the total candidates 278,196 are school candidates while the rest 53,513 are private candidates.

Steps have been taken to establish a special examination centre at the Welisara prison for prison inmates.Two examination centres will be established at children’s homes at Ratmalana and Tangalle for those with special needs. Measures have also been taken to establish another special examination centre at the Apeksha Hospital premises, Maharagama.

He requested the Ceylon Electricity Board to provide a continuous electricity supply for the areas where the examination centres are established during the examination period as the power cuts will hamper the smooth functioning of the examination process.
