Car blast in Afghanistan kills police chief, 2 others

Kabul: A car blast in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province killed three people on Monday, including a provincial police chief, the Taliban-Run Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Nafi Takor said.

Two others were injured in the blast near Badakhshan’s police headquarters, Takor said, adding that four people had been arrested in connection with the incident.

“Unfortunately a blast in Badakhshan province this morning claimed the life of provincial Police Chief Mawlawi Abdul Haq Abuomar and injured two others,” Takor told Xinhua news agency.

This is the second blast in the war-torn Afghanistan since Sunday. A blast rocked Police District 6 of Kabul on Sunday evening but left no casualties.
