New Delhi: Rashid Khan played a powerful knock for his side Afghanistan bu hitting 48 runs in just 23 balls. Though, Afghanistan could not win the game but Rashid Khan made this difficult for Australia by losing with just 4 runs.

His innings in Adelaide against Australia bowlers was truly a treat to the eyes as he his a total of 7 boundaries. During his stay on pitch for 23 balls, he hit 4 maximums and 3 fours and invented a new shot names ‘snake shot.’

What is a snake shot? Rashid Khan explains

In post match video, Rashid Khan has explained his shot and the reason why he names it after snake.

“Keep thinking about why don’t I bring something new to the game? You know, something like a snake shot. You go and bite the ball and come back. It is like a snake. You know, when snake is biting, you just come in and come back. That’s how I named it a snake shot. I get the ball in my zone where I can hit that snake shot. I am able to create the boundary,” explained Rashid Khan after hitting hard shots.

 Afghanistan fight hard against Australia

Australia had put 168 runs on board after put to bat first. Afghanistan bowlers had put a strong fight as they dismissed most of Aussies players cheaply. Mitchell Marsh (45), Glenn Maxwell (54) were the only high scoring batsmen. David Warner and Marcus Stoinis each scored 25 runs and other than these, no player could go even in double digits.

When Afghanistan came to bat, they put a strong fight and garnered 164 runs but feel short of 4 runs. However, Rashid Khan tried hard as he hit with a strike rate of 208 but it wasn’t just enough to win.
