Sack filled with skull, bones found in Udayarkattu

A group of people who were cleaning a plot of land behind the Amman Temple in Udayarkattu South, Puthukkudiyiruppu yesterday (24), found a sack filled with human bones behind the toilet of the land.

The pieces of bones were found in an old bag of chemical fertilizer.

The owner of the land informed police. They found that there was a skull and bones in the bag.

The owner of the land told the police that while loosening the soil to remove the root of the jackfruit tree, a rope was found and when digging further, they had found the old fertilizer bag buried three feet deep. Police say that the LTTE had occupied this area during the war and believe these pieces of bone possibly belonged to an LTTE cadre.
