Priyanka Gandhi to address people in Kangra rally

Kangra rally: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of the Congress, will address a rally on Friday in Nagrota Bagwan, Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district.

Congress candidate from Nagrota Bagwan and party secretary RS Bali made the following statements during a news conference: “We are proud that Priyanka Gandhi would visit GS Bali, a former minister and leader of the Congress, in his birthplace. Her presence serves as a testimony to GS Bali’s development efforts.” In addition, Nagrota Bagwan is the only rural district in the nation with government engineering, medical, ITI, pharmacy, and technical colleges all within the district, according to Bali.

While serving as an MLA and minister, GS Bali “committed his life to the development of the constituency and the state.”

Priyanka Gandhiji will be touring the Kangra region for the first time. She will speak at a gathering in Nagrota Bagwan’s Gandhi Ground.

With elections just around the doorstep, Congress has pledged that, as soon as it wins the government, it will reinstate the old pension programme (OPS).

The Congress leader Priyanka Vadra stated on Friday that if the party wins the upcoming Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, a decision will be made on restoring the old pension scheme in the first meeting of the cabinet. This was in response to remarks she made last month at the “Parivartan Pratigya Rally” in Solan.

In the first cabinet meeting following the formation of the government in this country, two important decisions—the first being the creation of one lakh new government positions and the second being the implementation of the old pension scheme (OPS)—will be made, she continued.

Challenges for the youth

Additionally important challenges for the youth that Congress is relying on include agniveer and unemployment.

If elected, Congress has pledged to create 5 lakh jobs and 680 crore in startup funding.

Virbhadra Singh, the party’s towering leader, is absent from this election. He died the previous year.

The Congress and the BJP

Congress and the BJP have been engaged in a bipolar campaign in Himachal, but the Aam Aadmi Party is also making an effort to gain ground.

For the 2018 Assembly elections in the state, the Congress unveiled its initial list of 46 candidates. The party is running veteran figures including Kaul Singh Thakur, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Mukesh Agnihotri, Asha Kumari, and Chander Kumar.

The son of the former chief minister, Virbhadra Singh, Vikramaditya Singh, has once more been nominated from Shimla Rural.

In the first list, the party fielded 19 sitting MLAs from their home districts.

The Himachal Pradesh assembly election schedule was released by the election commission on Friday.

Voting in the state will take place on November 12 and the results will be tallied on December 8.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 44 seats in the last election, while Congress took home 21 seats.
