Pilots leaving SriLankan - CEO

SriLankan Airlines Chief Executive Officer Richard Nuttall yesterday said that pilots have started leaving the company and he is expected to discuss this situation with the Ministry soon.

He said that his company is experiencing an exodus and many carriers in the world are looking out for experienced pilots.

Nuttal added that new recruitments to the company have also been restricted.

Speaking at a press conference in Colombo, the SriLankan CEO said that the company expects to increase the number of flights to different destinations.“We expect to increase flights to Korea and Sydney.

However Nuttal said that the company has not sought any funding from the government

“If we have aircraft, we will be able to increase flights to different destinations”, Nuttall said.
