Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif seeks immediate report on attack on Imran Khan

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in ‘strongest words’ condemened the firing incident on former PM and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan on Thursday in Wazirabad.

Sharif has also directed Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah to seek an immediate report on the incident.

“I condemn the incident of firing on PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the strongest words. I have directed Interior Minister for an immediate report on the incident. I pray for the recovery and health of PTI chairman & other injured people, Sharif tweeted.

‘Violence should have no place in our country’s politics,’ Sharif said, adding that his government will extend all support necessary to the Punjab government for security & investigation.

A firing incident was reported today near the PTI chief’s container near Zafar Ali Khan chowk in Wazirabad.

According to media reports, Khan was shot in the leg “three to four” and sustained bullet injuries.

Several other people, including PTI leader Faisal Javed, also sustained injuries.
