Let “hybrid” militant arrested from J&K’s Awantipora: Police

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday said that security forces arrested a “hybrid” militant of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Awantipora sub district of South Kashmir.

The militant was arrested at a checkpoint at Ladoo Awantipora by joint forces.

“Police alongwith security forces during naka checking at Ladoo Awantipora arrested a hybrid terrorist linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT and recovered incriminating materials including a grenade from his possession,” a police spokesman said, as reported by news agency UNI.

“During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the arrested hybrid terrorist was in close touch with LeT commanders and was involved in transportation of arms & ammunition,” the spokesman added.

Police said a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Khrew and further investigation has been taken up.

The term “hybrid” terrorist, coined by police, refers to a person who slip back into normal lives and have no police records.
