Staff to give evidence over student threats to Peradeniya Arts Faculty Dean

Based on a complaint made to the Police by the Dean of the Peradeniya University Faculty of Arts Prabhath Ekanayake regarding the threats posed by students, statements are to be obtained from several academic and non-academic staff.Accordingly, several teachers of the Faculty of Arts and Law Studies, along with the Disciplinary Controller and the Chief Security Officer, have been informed to come to the Police to to give their statements.

Prabhath Ekanayake had complained to the Police on October 7 that some students of the Student’s Association of the University of Peradeniya had threatened him.

According to the Police, a group of academic and non-academic staff who were said to have been there at the time of the said threat were requested to come and give statements.
