NEET UG Counselling 2022: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2022 counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is likely to start on October 10.
MCC has also started the portal for generating disability certificates for counselling for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates. PWD candidates are required to obtain a disability certificate from the NEET Disability Certification Center to avail benefits in NEET UG.
“Candidates who have registered themselves as PwD on the NTA website and want to avail the benefit of PwD reservation should get the disability certificate issued from any one of the designated NEET Disability Certification Centre,” the official notice reads.
PWD Certificate Required
After the counselling of NEET UG 2022 begins, students will have to prepare all their documents. Along with them, candidates have to participate in the counselling process. Round 1 counselling is expected to start on October 10. A disability certificate will be required for differently abled candidates in counselling. This will allow them to get the benefit of reservation.
According to the notification issued by the MCC, the candidates who have registered themselves as PWD can get their certificates online from the NTA website.
How to get a PWD certificate
According to the notice, “The candidates have to undergo a physical examination at the designated disability centre by visiting the centre and getting their disability assessed and quantified. The centre authorities will generate the certificate online through the portal provided by MCC. Candidates should ensure that the PWD certificate is duly signed by the examining specialists.”
MCC will conduct the NEET UG counselling 2022 for 15 per cent of All India Quota (AIQ) seats, AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU and other open seats. The education board will allot seats to candidates based on factors including the NEET UG rank list, preferences filled by them and the number of seats available in medical colleges. MCC will conduct AIQ counselling in four rounds. AIQ seats will also include the reservation policy set by the central government.

The NEET UG counselling schedule is expected to be announced in a few days. Once released, the complete schedule will be made available on the official website, mcc.nic.in. NEET UG 2022 counselling is also expected to be conducted in four rounds- Round 1, Round 2, Mop Up Round and Stray Vacancy.
