Meegoda Police arrested a 49-year-old person for stabbing and snatching the gold necklace of his 60-year-old Facebook paramour in the Meegoda area on Monday. The suspect is a resident of Suhada Mawatha, Seeduwa and the 60-year-old woman is a resident of Galkanda road, Nagahawatta, Meegoda.
Both of them are said to be married and having children from their legal marriages.
They met each other through Facebook and had become lovers later on.
As reported, the woman is living separately from her family.
The suspect had been visiting her occasionally and had a habit of staying at her place for a few days when he came to her place at Meegoda.
On October 2 also the suspect had visited this woman’s house and an argument developed between them in the wee hours of Monday (3) had caused this incident, police said. The victim is receiving treatment at the Homagama Hospital and the suspect was to be produced before the Courts by the police yesterday. Meegoda Police are investigating.
