Sri Lanka Freedom Party General Secretary Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekera has lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and called for an immediate investigation yesterday (10) into those who released to social media, a list of names of the politicians who gave money to Thilini Priyamali, who is currently in remand prison in connection with a case of defrauding money for investments from famous businessmen in the country.
He has requested the Criminal Investigation Department to carry out a proper investigation regarding the incident and said that only the CID should have the list containing his name which is at present circulating on social media and requested that a formal investigation be conducted immediately and the correct names revealed.“I don’t even know that woman is.
He said that he had not put money in and that he does not have money to put in. He said that this smear campaign is being carried out by a group of people who are angry about him speaking strongly about fraud and corruption in the Government.
“I was attacked enough and more about a light bill. I do not know whether I will be killed at this rate. The MP said that he would fight without fear even if he was killed and asked the CID to immediately investigate those who released the list of names on social media.
“This list of names is presented maliciously with the intention of defamation. If there is a list of names, it should be in the possession of the CID only. The MP further said that he also requested that the correct persons who revealed the names and those who had given money should be disclosed”.
