New Delhi: A moment in the T20I between Australia and England has created controversy on social media. Matthew Wade blocked the way of Mark Wood from taking a catch during the game.
It was in the 17th over when Australia was chasing the target of 209, When the ball went in the air but Wade tried to block Mark Wood’s way from taking a catch.
After the incident, English captain Jos Buttler looked in doubt but no appeal was made. No action was taken on incident that happened in Perth Stadium and thus, it led to many controversies on Social Media.

Australia, however lost the game by 8 runs after they failed to chase the target of 209 runs. After opting to bowl first, Australia had chosen to bowl first.
English team had garnered 132 runs for the opening wickets when Jos Buttler went back for 68 runs. Hales, however, continued to be on crease till Kane Richardson dismissed him 16th over.
When Australia came to bat, David Warner played a brilliant innings of 73 runs which was later supported by 36 runs of Mitchell Marsh and 35 runs by Marcus Stoinis. Though, the efforts of Australian team weren’t enough to get them the win.
Jos Buttler – It was great game
After winning the game, England captain Jos Buttler said “It was a great game of cricket and I was delighted to go over the line. They played outstandingly and put us under pressure (on Australia), it was important for us to take wickets, which is what Wood and Curran did. I was looking at the ball and didn’t notice what exactly happened (on the possible obstruction by Wade).”
“You are always unsure about it (on his return after a long layoff), it was nice to get a boundary early on and that settled things a bit. Alex (Hales) has a fantastic record in Australia (playing in the BBL), Salt did well in his chances, but we felt that Alex was the man at the top in Australia and for the upcoming World Cup,” he added.
