Amul hikes milk prices for third time this year

New Delhi: Amul, one of the largest dairy companies in India, unexpectedly raised the price of milk packets on Saturday for third time this year. The price of full cream milk from the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation increased by Rs 2 per litre to Rs 63 per litre from Rs 61 per litre previously.

According to Zee Business channel, the corporation hasn’t yet made a statement regarding the price rise for milk.

Amul has increased the price of milk three times in a row. Given greater input costs, the company raised the price of its milk products earlier in August and March.

Major milk manufacturers and distributors, including Amul, raised the price of their goods by Rs 2 earlier in August. Mother Dairy and other well-known milk manufacturers followed Amul’s lead and raised the price of milk by Rs 2 per litre.

Amul Shakti milk was now sold for Rs 50 per litre, Amul Gold for Rs 62 per litre, and Amul Taza for Rs 56 per litre, in accordance with the revised tariff.
