Video: Sand mafia tractors smash through toll plaza at Agra-Gwalior highway

New Delhi: In a sensational incident, over a dozen tractors smashed through the barriers at a toll plaza near Agra in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday night while allegedly transporting illegally mined sand.

Despite strict action by the administration, incidents of sand mining continue to take place in Uttar Pradesh. The latest incident took place on the Agra-Gwalior highway when 13 tractors smashed through the barriers at a toll plaza in Jhajau.

The whole scenario was captured in the CCTV camera showing the toll plaza workers trying to stop the sand-laden tractors but they failed.

In the video, it was visible that the first tractor did not stop to pay the toll instead it sped up to break the barriers. Following the first tractors, other 12 vehicles done the same.

Media reports claim that the tractors were returning from Agra to Gwalior.

However, the incident of illegal sand-mining are frequent in the Chambal area at Rajasthan-Uttar Pradesh border.
