New Delhi: A Twitter spat broke out between Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Maurya & Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Saturday.
It all started with Maurya’s tweet, where he wrote that Akhilesh Yadav and his party Samajwadi Party ‘will not even open its account in the Lok Sabha elections’.
“Restless for power, Akhilesh Yadav’s party SP will not even open its account in Lok Sabha elections 2024, Modi wave in UP and country is stronger than before,” Maurya said.

Akhilesh quickly responded to this statement with a musical tone to his tweet. Taking a dig at Maurya, the former CM said: You are smiling so much… the budget has been cut in your ministry… the money has not reached the departments of your ministry… the tender could not be done… are you hiding all these secrets… why are you smiling so much?
Akhilesh in the follow-up post said:
24 के चुनाव में अपने ख़िलाफ़ जनता के आक्रोश व जनहित में काम करनेवाले दलों की एकजुटता देखकर, भाजपा बौखला गयी है। इसीलिए अपने लाउडस्पीकर दलों से अनाप-शनाप बातें कहलवा रही है…इन लाउडस्पीकरों का माइक कहीं और है।
जनता को धोखा देनेवाली भाजपा और उसके नालबद्ध दलों को जनता सबक़ सिखाएगी।

This comes after Yadav had ‘offered’ the UP CM post to Maurya, if he joins the Samajwadi Party with 100 MLAs.
Maurya had countered this invitation saying more than 100 MLAs of the SP are in touch with the BJP.
Meanwhile, Mayawati hit out her fellow Opposition leader for making ‘childish’ statements.
“SP is losing its support base in UP, for which its own action is the main reason. The news of mutual quarrels, tussle and their open nexus with criminal elements and jail matching etc. in the family, party and their alliance is in the media, then why should there be no disappointment among the people?,” she said.
