Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand: A shocking case of love and betrayal has come to light from Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi where a young man killed himself when his long term girlfriend refused to marry him after getting a government job.
The young man and his girlfriend took vows to live and die together during a long love affair, but then the girl got a government job and everything changed. At first, the girl started ignoring the young man and then began refusing to marry.
Because of the change in the girl’s behaviour, the lover from Nainital district travelled to Uttarkashi district to meet his girlfriend, who had recently been appointed to the district. His girlfriend flatly refused to marry him at this point.
The young man was so heartbroken that he called his brother and, after explaining the situation, discussed consuming poison. He then actually consumed poison and died by suicide. This issue is still being debated in the city. People are lamenting the reality of today’s love and the loss of such naive youth love.
According to police, a young man was discovered unconscious and in a suspicious condition in a car parked in a park near the district headquarters in Uttarkashi. The 108 ambulance was notified by the residents. An ambulance arrived and took him to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The police arrived at the scene on the information by the hospital administration, took possession of the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
The young man had travelled to Uttarkashi to meet his girlfriend, according to family members. It has been reported that his girlfriend works for the government.
Earlier, the young man had called his brother and announced his intention to commit suicide by ingesting poison. The police are looking into the situation.
The police identified the youth as Bhupesh Chandra Bahuguna of Okhalkanda, Tehsil Dhari, district Nainital, based on the papers found in his pocket.
Inspector Dinesh Kumar, in charge of Uttarkashi Kotwali, stated that a call came on Bhupesh’s mobile shortly after the police arrived. Suraj, Bhupesh’s younger brother, was on the phone who told the cops that Bhupesh had come to Uttarkashi to meet a girl with whom he was having an affair.
Sooraj stated that on Wednesday night, around 11:30 pm, Bhupesh called and informed him of the girl’s refusal to marry and about consuming poison.
The girl works for the government in Uttarkashi. The young lady was recently assigned to Uttarkashi.
