Provide solutions to fuel, gas and hydro problems - Senior Advisor to the President Sagala Ratnayake

Enable GingerMr. Sagala Ratnayake, Chief of Staff to the President and Senior Advisor to the President on National Security, instructed the officials to provide prompt solutions to the problems in the fuel, gas and paddy sectors in the country.

These instructions were given in the discussion held today at the President’s Secretariat with the officers belonging to the above fields. Discussions were held with the officials of the Petroleum Corporation regarding the problems arising in the purchase and distribution of fuel, where Mr. Ratnayake asked for immediate relief to the problems of the people affected by the fuel crisis. 

Mr. Sagala Ratnayake, the President’s Senior Adviser, paid more attention to the problem related to kerosene and gave instructions to give priority to solving that problem.
 
There was a discussion regarding the increase in the price of rice and providing a guaranteed price to the rice farmer. The problems faced by the Paddy Marketing Board in purchasing paddy were discussed with the Heads of the Paddy Marketing Board and the Heads of State Banks.
The Senior Advisor to the President instructed the officials to expedite the procurement of paddy and improve paddy storage facilities.
 
The current gas crisis was discussed here, and necessary steps were taken to resolve the existing problems related to gas purchase, import and distribution.
Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera, Member of Parliament Nimal Lanza, Secretary to the President Saman Ekanayake, Senior Advisor to the President on Economic Affairs R.H.S Samaratunga and a group of heads of government institutions and heads of banks in the fuel, gas and water sectors attended this discussion.
