Mahindra XUV400: First look out, check

New Delhi: The latest trailer shows off a new light blue paint shade and the ‘Twin Peaks’ logo in copper. It will be 200 mm longer than the subcompact XUV300 with a redesigned rear end.

The specifications are likely to be on par with the Tata Nexon EV with a range of up to 450 km on offer. Prices should start around Rs 15 lakh for the standard range variant.

Mahindra has given us our first look at the undisguised XUV400 electric SUV, which is set to break cover on September 8. The electric vehicle (EV) is a precursor to the brand’s XUV electric cars due in 2024, and like the upcoming EVs, bears the brand’s “Twin Peaks” logo in copper to denote its all-electric powertrain.

The latest teaser reveals new details about the Mahindra EV

The XUV400 is derived from the ICE-powered XUV300 and has a longer wheelbase than the subcompact SUV. This should free up more luggage space in the electric SUV, which will also get a redesigned rear profile with LED elements in the taillights.

In some details, the new XUV400 differs from the concept SUV shown at the Auto Expo 2020. It still has the closed X-shaped front grille, but it has new copper-colored elements inside the grille and at the base. front bumper. It also has L-shaped LED running lights located in the headlights.

Several drive options are available

We expect the Mahindra XUV400 to offer more than one powertrain option (battery and e-motor) similar to the Tata Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max SUVs. The standard variant of the range should be priced around Rs 15 lakh to make the SUV eligible for benefits under FAME-II and state government subsidy schemes.

The longer range variant should offer a range of around 450 km and be priced around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

We will know the full details about the SUV after its unveiling on September 8. It is likely to be launched by the end of 2022.
