There is an increase in the number of HIV patients in the 18-25 age category, National STD and HIV Prevention Programme Director Rasanjali Hettiarachchi said yesterday (19).
She also stated that 18 out of 50 people who were reported as infected in August were between the ages of 18 and 25.
She stated that about 2300 people infected with HIV are taking the vaccine, and it is estimated that about 3700 should get the vaccine. Hettiarachchi said about 1400 people who are not identified as infected are living in society.
