Fake currency notes printer arrested

An employee who printed 12 fake Rs.1,000 and Rs. 5,000 notes at the laboratories of the Tissamaharama, Beralihela, Kudagammana Junior Colleges was arrested by Tissamaharama Police on September 15 night.

The scanner and printer, which were used to print out these fake notes were also taken into custody by Police.

The suspect, 32-year-old Kandambige Dhammika Senerath, a resident of No. 955, Gemunupura Road, Debarawewa, Tissamaharama was to be produced before the Tissamaharama Magistrate’s Court.

A team of police officers led by Officer-In-Charge of the Crime Investigations Division Nimal Lokuge is carrying out further investigations under the OIC of the Tissamaharama Police Chief Inspector of Police A. D. Kariyawasam on the instructions of Hambantota Assistant Superintendent of Police Premasiri Perera.
