Dubai to get world’s first gigantic moon-shaped luxury resort; Details inside

New Delhi: One small step for man, one giant leap for Dubai’s ever-growing tourism sector. The City of Gold recently announced it’s building a $5 billion (AU7 billion) moon-shaped luxury resort — because, of course, they are. A new project designed by Canadian architectural firm Moon World Resorts Inc. will be a 735 feet tall complex that will add a celestial charm to the already dazzling city. But Moon Dubai plans to be much more than just the latest playground for millionaire-loving astronomers.

The out-of-this-world destination resort will offer guests a 10-acre lunar colony and will have 300 residential Sky Villas for sale. The property also boasts a private club, spa, event center, moon shuttle and space agency training center. The megaproject, which is expected to open by 2027, is estimated to bring in 2.5 million guests annually. While its design is enough to draw travelers in droves, the “lunar colony” aims to give enthusiasts a space tourism experience from the comfort of Earth.

The architecture firm believes Moon Dubai will boost the emirate’s economy in sectors such as hospitality, entertainment, attractions, education, technology, environment and space tourism. Michael R. Henderson, co-founder of Moon World Resorts, said: “Moon Dubai will be the largest and most successful modern tourism development in the entire MENA region, doubling annual tourist visits to Dubai based on its global brand appeal. awareness and unique diverse integrated offerings. It comfortably accommodates 10 million visitors a year.”

He continued: “Dubai Month will significantly impact every aspect of the emirate’s economy, including tourism, transport, commercial and residential real estate, infrastructure, financial services, aerospace, energy, MICE, agriculture, technology and, of course, education. It will plant the UAE flag firmly at the forefront of space exploration.” Last year, Moon World Resorts announced that a similar lunar resort was also landing in Las Vegas.

The Moon Resort in Las Vegas, with almost identical qualities to the Dubai project, will also be a $5 billion mega-replica of the Moon with a luxury hotel, casino, concert hall and several lounges. They have 46,452 square meters of meeting space, a nightclub and luxury suites for 10 million guests and will also offer 90-minute excursions to the lunar surface and include exploration of its active lunar colony.
