Bad Bunny honored a Uvalde shooting survivor by giving her VIP treatment at one of his recent concerts.
The Puerto Rican singer — who is currently on his “World’s Hottest Tour” — hosted 10-year-old Mayah Nicole Zamora and her family at his concert last Friday in Dallas, Texas. Bad Bunny, 28, and the young fan met backstage, and the former even autographed merchandise for her.
In an Instagram post, MLB star Carlos Correa’s The Correa Family Foundation shared a series of photos of Zamora backstage, and expressed their gratitude to Bad Bunny, who recently contributed to raising funds to build Zamora and her family a new home.
“A huge thank you to @badbunnypr for welcoming our Hero of the Month, Mayah Zamora, to your concert, and for making sure she had a beautiful and fun night dancing with her family!” The Correa Family Foundation captioned the post, which was shared on Sunday. “All the love she received from you and your team @noahassad @rimas made this an incredible experience she and her family will cherish.”
Per Fuse TV, Bad Bunny and his team “treated Mayah and her family to a private suite, dinner, and met backstage before his show.”
During the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, which occurred in late May, 19 children and two teachers were killed, and 17 others were wounded, including Zamora, who suffered “gunshot wounds to her hands, arms, chest and back,” per MLB.com.
According to the outlet, Zamora was hospitalized for 66 days and underwent over 20 surgeries. During her time in the hospital, the young girl discovered her home was only blocks away from where the gunman lives, which made her uncomfortable.
The Correa Family Foundation stepped in to build a new home for Zamora, with Bad Bunny and his Good Bunny Foundation being listed as donors.
During a Houston Astros game in late August, the Correa Family Foundation honored Zamora, and announced the news about the family’s new house.
“We were proud to announce yesterday that thanks to the generosity of numerous donors, we have secured the funding to build Mayah and her family a new home in a location where she feels safe and comfortable,” the foundation shared in an Instagram post. “We hope this will be an opportunity for Mayah and her family to rebuild their lives, make new memories, and look towards a bright future.
