New Delhi: Alia Bhatt receives the Best Actor at the Priyadarshni Academy Smita Patil Memorial Award. She has been awarded for her contribution to Indian cinema. The event marks the 38th anniversary celebrations of the premier non-profit, socio-cultural organization, Priyadarshini Academy.
This rare honour is given to national and international recipients annually. It awards global recognition for its excellence and immense contribution to its respective fields.
This year, exceptional achievers were felicitated virtually by Union Ministers, Govt. of India, at the Academy’s Awards presentation ceremony. The webinar was scheduled for September 19, 2022.
Speaking on the occasion, Alia said, “I want to thank the Priyadarshni Academy for bestowing me with the Smita Patil Memorial Award for Best Actor. It’s a tremendous honour to be here today, one I’ll cherish for the years to come. India has the most incredible legacy of the arts, and I’m eternally grateful that our work is a part of it. Cinema teaches us the importance of believing in the beauty of dreams, to follow them with dedication and humility, and never quit.”
Ranbir and Alia are currently expecting their first child together. The couple had announced their pregnancy in June. On the work front, the two will reprise their roles as Shiva and Isha in Brahmastra Part Two- Dev. No release date for the film has been announced yet. However, in an interview recently, Ayan Mukerji revealed that they are eying for a 2025 release.
