WATCH: Heavy rainfalls submerge Bengaluru, roads disappear

New Delhi: The rainfall is reeking havoc on the streets of Bengaluru. The roads in the capital of Karnataka has turned into river streams. Normal life came to a standstill as the roads became invisible following heavy showers in the city.

The most impacted were the pedestrians and two-wheeler riders. Officials informed that after rain and wind, trees were found uprooted in many areas. As a precaution, a holiday has been declared in schools and colleges today.

Videos of submerged roads going viral

On the other hand, some videos are becoming viral on social media after flooding of roads. A video showed vehicles stuck in a waterlogged area on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway. Stranded civilians in some areas were rescued with the help of boats.

CM Bommai visits flood-hit areas

Karnataka has been witnessing heavy rainfall for the last few days. Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai on Monday visited flood-hit areas, including Ramanagar. He took stock of the situation. Officials said the chief minister listened to the problems of the affected people and promised provision of relief.

Bengaluru city DC K Srinivas told news agency ANI, “Due to heavy rains, many parts of Bengaluru were waterlogged and many trees were uprooted on Monday. Due to heavy rains, a holiday has been declared for schools and colleges in Bengaluru on Tuesday.”
