A suspect who had abused a mentally handicapped underaged female was granted bail by the Attanagalla Magistrate on Wednesday (17).
The suspect (22) is a resident of Wathupitiwala area. He had lured the victim (16), to an abandoned house and abused her.
The magistrate strongly warned the suspect that two persons should sign the bail and if any influence is put on the plaintiff after the bail, bail will be revoked and the suspect will be kept in remand until the end of the trial. Nittambuwa police informed that a similar case where the same victim was abused is still ongoing.
