Maruti Suzuki – 98,318 units
Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 98,318 units of its passenger cars with a total market share of 39.17 percent for July 2022. This figure is lower compared to their July 2021 numbers where their market share was 43.54 percent with 1,14,607 units sold. . The most notable aspect is that number two on the list is not even halfway with their sales figures.
Hyundai – 40,056 units
Hyundai was able to sell 40,056 units of its passenger cars in July 2022, their current market share at the same level is 15.96 percent. The company sold 45,081 units in July 2021 with a market share of 17.13 percent. Hyundai has also seen a drop in sales this year.
Tata Motors – 36,048 units
Tata Motors is the first manufacturer on the list to actually improve. They managed to sell 36,048 units of their passenger cars with a current market share of 14.36 percent. As of July 2021, their sales figures were 25,110 units and had a market share of 9.54 percent.
Mahindra – 19,307 units
Mahindra also improved on last year’s numbers and managed to sell 19,307 units of its passenger cars and currently has a market share of 7.69 percent for July 2022. In July 2021, it sold 16,465 units and had a market share of 6.25 percent. With the response they are getting for the new Scorpio-N, you can expect Mahindra to do better in this space soon.
Kia – 17,303 units
Kia managed to sell 17,303 units of its passenger cars and now has a current market share of 6.89 percent in July 2022. In July 2021, it sold 16,072 units and its market share was 6.11 percent. So Kia was able to grow in terms of sales in the Indian market as well.
Overall, the Indian passenger car segment saw a decline in total sales with 2,50,972 units sold in July 2022 compared to 2,63,238 units sold in July 2021. The Indian automobile industry witnessed a 5.19 percent decline in passenger car sales. in the month of July 2022.
