PM Modi alleges conspiracies were hatched to defame Gujarat before world

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday made serious accusations saying the conspiracies were hatched to tarnish Gujarat’s reputation in Indian as well as before the world.

“There were conspiracies to defame Gujarat in the country and the world. Repeated attempts were made to stop investment coming to the state, but the state chose a new path of progress,” PM Modi said.

The PM visited Bhuj district of Gujarat where the Assembly elections are likely to take place in December. He inaugurated and laid foundation stone of development works in Bhuj.

He appreciated efforts of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for several developments in the state. PM Modi recalled saffron party’s ‘determination’ for ‘impossible’ recovery of Kutch after the earthquake in 2001.

“After the 2001 Kutch earthquake, in the midst of the destruction, I had spoken about redevelopment of Kutch and we worked hard for it. Today, you are witnessing the results,” he said.

He claimed that many people even believed that Kutch will not be able to recover but people changed the scenario.

“You may see many deficiencies in India now, but I can clearly visualize that by 2047, India will be a developed nation,” he added.
